Local tips
Pemberton & District Fire Hall is just about 45 m from Westland Insurance at 1347 Aster Street, where Pemberton's road tests are booked, so be ready to pull to the right and stop for fire trucks. The office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and road tests are by appointment. Map data shows railway level crossings about 350 m away; slow down, look both ways and never stop on the tracks. A roundabout sits about 385 m away, and the route uses it twice: yield to traffic already in it and signal your exit. L'École la Vallée de Pemberton, Signal Hill Elementary and Pemberton High School are between about 480 m and 695 m away, so watch for school zones on weekdays. Our 9.4 km practice route goes from Aster Street and Dogwood Street to Prospect Street and Birch Street, through the roundabout onto Aspen Boulevard, then Oak Street, Urdal Road, Collins Road and Pemberton Meadows Road. Repeat the loop until the roundabout feels routine.
Common questions
Pemberton road test FAQ
What are the hours at Pemberton?
ICBC lists: Mon–Fri 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Check icbc.com before you go, especially around holidays.
How do I book a road test?
Book online at icbc.com (Book a road test), or call 604-982-2250 in Metro Vancouver, 250-978-8300 in Victoria, or 1-800-950-1498 toll-free; in other areas you can also contact the nearest driver licensing office. You pay the road test fee when you arrive. Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead, or you'll be charged a $25 fee.
What do I need to bring?
Arrive 15 minutes early with the same ID you used for your learner's licence (one primary and one secondary piece), your learner's licence, payment for the road test fee, and a safe, reliable, insured vehicle with a Canadian licence plate and its registration papers. GPS and navigation must be off, and recording devices aren't allowed during the test.
When can I take the road test, and is there a second test?
New drivers take the Class 7 road test to move from the learner (L) licence to the novice (N) licence; the earliest date you can take it is printed on your licence. Since October 19, 2026, drivers with a novice licence and a clean record no longer take a second road test: a Driving Record Assessment replaces it.
