The Portage la Prairie MPI Service Centre is at 2007 Saskatchewan Avenue West, on the west side of the city. MPI lists weekday hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with road tests by appointment. MPI notes that Class 1 to 3 road tests (trucks and buses) are held at a different address, 2450 Saskatchewan Avenue W, Unit D-10, so check your booking if you're testing in a larger vehicle. Saskatchewan Avenue here is Highway 1A, with 50 and 60 km/h limits and traffic lights at 18th Street about 250 metres from the centre. Map data also shows railway level crossings about half a kilometre away, and Yellowquill and Fort La Reine schools are both within about 750 metres. Our 16.0 km practice route runs east along Saskatchewan Avenue, then loops through residential streets on both sides of it using Tupper Street, Crescent Road and the numbered streets.
