Local tips

Revelstoke's road tests are booked through the Revelstoke Service BC Centre at 104 - 1123 Second St West, open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with road tests by appointment. Roundabouts are worth practicing here: one is about 485 m from the office, and the practice route uses roundabouts three times. Yield to traffic already in them and signal your exit. Map data also shows railway level crossings about 430 m away and more about 1.1 km away; slow down, look both ways and never stop on the tracks. Okanagan College's Revelstoke Centre is about 315 m away, and the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH 1) is about 330 m away. With 78 stop signs and 43 marked crosswalks nearby, full stops matter. Our 11.2 km practice route goes from 2nd Street West and Wales Street to Victoria Road, onto the Trans-Canada Highway, then Townley Street, Victoria Street East, 8th Street East, MacKenzie Avenue, Douglas Street and Wright Street. Practice choosing the right exit before you enter each roundabout.

Common questions

Revelstoke road test FAQ

What are the hours at Revelstoke?

ICBC lists: Mon–Fri 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Check icbc.com before you go, especially around holidays.

How do I book a road test?

Book online at icbc.com (Book a road test), or call 604-982-2250 in Metro Vancouver, 250-978-8300 in Victoria, or 1-800-950-1498 toll-free; in other areas you can also contact the nearest driver licensing office. You pay the road test fee when you arrive. Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead, or you'll be charged a $25 fee.

What do I need to bring?

Arrive 15 minutes early with the same ID you used for your learner's licence (one primary and one secondary piece), your learner's licence, payment for the road test fee, and a safe, reliable, insured vehicle with a Canadian licence plate and its registration papers. GPS and navigation must be off, and recording devices aren't allowed during the test.

When can I take the road test, and is there a second test?

New drivers take the Class 7 road test to move from the learner (L) licence to the novice (N) licence; the earliest date you can take it is printed on your licence. Since October 19, 2026, drivers with a novice licence and a clean record no longer take a second road test: a Driving Record Assessment replaces it.
