Local tips

The Simcoe centre is inside Simcoe Mall, next to the Dollarama, where Queensway Drive East (Highway 3) meets Donly Drive North. Give yourself time to find the right storefront, because the mall is a long strip of units and there is more than one parking area. Map data shows customer lots right beside the buildings, so you should not need street parking. The road out front is four lanes wide and the mall entrance has its own traffic signal, so expect to start or finish your test at a busy light. Heading east, Queensway East turns into Highway 3 and speed limits rise to as much as 80 km/h; heading west, you reach the Gilbertson Drive and Norfolk Street lights within about a kilometre. There are two schools within roughly a kilometre, so practice watching for school-zone signs. The office is open on weekdays only, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., so plan a weekday morning or afternoon slot.
