Local tips
The Perth-Andover driver examination office is at 1123 West Riverside Drive, open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with road tests by appointment. West Riverside Drive is Route 130, and Route 109 and its bridge over the river are only about 55 to 210 metres away, so there's steady through traffic around the office. Main Street, carrying Routes 105 and 109, is about 360 metres away at 50 km/h. Map data shows about eleven pedestrian crossings within 800 metres. Our 25.3 km practice route takes West Riverside Drive and Fort Road to F. Tribe Road (Route 109), then loops through Barrett Street, Legion Street, Beveridge Street, Warren Street, Park Street and Elm Street. It heads out along Aroostook Road and Tinker Road to Route 130, and leaves at exit 115 onto Route 190 before turning back on F. Tribe Road. Signs at that exit point toward Fort Fairfield, Maine, so follow the route carefully and don't head for the border crossing.
Common questions
Perth-Andover road test FAQ
What are the hours at Perth-Andover?
Service New Brunswick lists: Mon–Fri 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Offices close on statutory holidays, so check snb.ca before you go.
How do I book a road test?
Book online through Service New Brunswick's Driver Examination Online Booking Service (linked from gnb.ca's Driver licence testing page), or call TeleServices at 1-888-762-8600 (Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.). The road test fee is $25 plus HST for each attempt, and you can take the test in English or French.
What do I need to bring?
A licensed driver with at least three years of experience and a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) licence to come with you, your valid learner's permit, a signed and valid vehicle registration, proof of valid insurance for the vehicle, your driving school certificate if you have one, and proof of payment for the test. Bring paper copies; only the proof of insurance can be digital. If anything is missing, you'll be turned away.
How long do I need my learner's licence first, and what if I fail?
New drivers take this road test to move from Class 7 Level 1 (learner) to Level 2. You must have held Level 1 for at least one year, or eight months if you completed a recognized driver education course (green certificate required). The wait is waived if you've been fully licensed before. If you don't pass, you book and pay for another attempt.
