Come to a full stop behind the line at every sign and scan the intersection before you go. The office is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a later 9:00 a.m. start on Wednesdays, and road tests are by appointment. South Fraser Way, about 100 m away, is posted at 50 km/h with three lanes, and Old Yale Road, about 240 m away, has five, so lane discipline matters. Fire Hall No. 1 (Clearbrook) is about 825 m away; if you hear a siren, pull to the right and stop. Our 22.0 km practice route uses Countess Street, Old Yale Road, Maclure Road, Bradner Road, Huntingdon Road and Clearbrook Road, then a roundabout where you take the second exit before South Fraser Way. In the roundabout, yield to traffic already in it and signal your exit.
Common questions
Abbotsford road test FAQ
What are the hours at Abbotsford?
ICBC lists: Mon–Tue 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Wed 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Thu–Sat 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Road tests by appointment. Check icbc.com before you go, especially around holidays.
How do I book a road test?
Book online at icbc.com (Book a road test), or call 604-982-2250 in Metro Vancouver, 250-978-8300 in Victoria, or 1-800-950-1498 toll-free; in other areas you can also contact the nearest driver licensing office. You pay the road test fee when you arrive. Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours ahead, or you'll be charged a $25 fee.
What do I need to bring?
Arrive 15 minutes early with the same ID you used for your learner's licence (one primary and one secondary piece), your learner's licence, payment for the road test fee, and a safe, reliable, insured vehicle with a Canadian licence plate and its registration papers. GPS and navigation must be off, and recording devices aren't allowed during the test.
When can I take the road test, and is there a second test?
New drivers take the Class 7 road test to move from the learner (L) licence to the novice (N) licence; the earliest date you can take it is printed on your licence. Since October 19, 2026, drivers with a novice licence and a clean record no longer take a second road test: a Driving Record Assessment replaces it.
